A portrait of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is seen outside her office in the Alaska State Capitol building on Monday morning, July 6, 2009, in Juneau, Alaska. Palin was not behind the large frosted glass doors emblazoned with the state seal leading to her office. Instead, she was fishing with family members in Bristol Bay. For the trickle of tourists who found their way to Palin's third-floor office, the black-and-white photo hanging in the "Hall of Governors" gallery would have to do. Sarah Palin has left plenty for speculation. Following her July 3, 2009 announcement that she is giving up the governorship, she has also avoided definitive responses on a potential 2012 presidential run. In an interview with CNN’s Drew Griffin, she was presented with the question whether her quitting was in preparation for a future presidential run. Here is the conversation as it transpired. (this conversation follows the previous conversation in the article: Sarah Palin on Quitting)
Drew Griffin: Is this your unconventional way of announcing you're going to run for president in 2012?
Sarah Palin: As I said, I do not need a title. I-nobody does to…
Drew Griffin: Are you out of politics?
Sarah Palin: … affect positive change.
Drew Griffin: Political office?
Sarah Palin: I can't see me to be totally out of public service, because that is within me. It is the way that I'm wired is to...
Drew Griffin: Governor, I'm asking you are you ever going to run for president? Are you ruling it out?
Sarah Palin: All options are going to keep on - continuing to be on the table as they have been for me my entire life. I'm not going to close any door that may be open for me out there. So all options are on the table.
But for now, I want to help other people in or out of office, don't care what party they're in, if they're willing to fight for what's right. Energy independence, national security, smaller, smarter government. Those things that I believe in that I think are the principles that have built up or nation. I'm going to fight for other people who can help affect the change in those areas.
Drew Griffin: It's been three days. How have those days been?
Sarah Palin: Exhilarating, energizing, refreshing to get to come out here with my family and just be in this unpretentious very hard working heartland of America community and get back to some roots of mine and be out there working very hard on the water yesterday and today. This is really good for me. And it's a chance right now to start looking forward to how I can help our state and our help our country in a new direction.
Drew Griffin: One last question.
Sarah Palin: Oh, I thought you were saying that’s it.
Drew Griffin: This is one, one last question. I mean, the personal toll on your family, do you have mending to do in this family? I know you mentioned that the family voted what for...
Sarah Palin: For yeses and one hell, yeah, mom, let's get out there and fight for what is right without the constraints.
Drew Griffin: Do they also want us to go away?
Sarah Palin: No, the kids are really good. They're flexible, they're accommodating to all this. What my kids want to do is see their mom get out there and affect a positive change and not be bombarded and hounded by the things that are on the periphery that just distract and stymie the progress that our state and our nation can make.
My kids know me better than anybody else. They're four yeses and one hell yeah were for mom, get out there and fight for what is right. Fight for the future of our country. You can't do it with what you're doing every single day, ever since August 29th that you wake up and face.
Drew Griffin: July 3rd was deliberate?
Sarah Palin: July 3rd was deliberate. That's a good catch because that was the eve of Independence Day, yes.
Drew Griffin: I'm told by your attorney that was your declaration of independence.
Sarah Palin: Well, it was a declaration of come on Alaska, let's move forward. I am willing to step aside and allow our state to progress. I love Alaska that much. I don't want to hamper its progress and it's potential. And our path, I'm reaching our destiny. Our destiny is to contribute more to the U.S. to provide that energy independence and that national security aspect. I don't want to get in the way of that. And I'm willing to step aside and fate for what's right in -- on a different path. So it's not retreat. It is progress. Thank you, sir.

Sarah Palin,
Please stay at home, your son need you more than the public need you, he will need a lot of help.
mom of child with autism , I thought women could do it all! Power job, family and success. Isn't that what the entire 40 year old women's movement was all about? Isn't that what Hillary Clinton RAN her campaign on?
I guess ex Gov Palin wlll have to find a "sugar daddy" to buy thousands of dollars designer clothing so she can look "cute" again and all of the Republican guys can "swoon."
But, she is so short that she has to wear very high heels all the time or she looks like a very small human female.
Stay with your family, they need you more than
the world does.
If she is as smart as she says she is she will
stay home. Otherwise she will just make a fool
out of herself again and again.
Hillary had a lot going for her you Ms. Palin
do not.
