Sarah Palin leaving Fox might mean a run against Hillary Clinton in 2016 (Video)

Sarah Palin and Fox News have parted ways, according to a CBS News report on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. The story is unclear whether Palin was fired or decided to leave on her own. CBS News reported that someone close to the situation indicated there were some discussions about renewing her contract, but "she decided to do other things." Would those "other things" possibly include a run for president in 2016? Wouldn't a Sarah Palin vs. Hillary Clinton race be a historic and captivating political drama?

Virtually anyone you ask thinks that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will run for president in 2016 because it has been a lifelong quest on her part. She has enjoyed amazing public opinion polls while serving as secretary of state.

You can read about what James Carville said about her popularity here.

Whether the Benghazi situation will affect her public opinion ratings, it remains to be seen. It would be an almost sure thing to bet that "if elected, she would serve!"

Howard Kurtz has some different thoughts in his "Spin Cycle" column in The Daily Beast .

The new contract offered by Fox, say people familiar with the situation, would have provided only a fraction of the million-dollar-a-year salary. It was then, they say, that Palin turned it down and both sides agreed to call it quits

So, it may be that Sarah Palin does not have the popularity numbers she did at one time, and, if that is the case, a presidential run may not be in cards for 2016. One thing is sure, a Clinton vs. Palin race would be a lot more interesting than Obama and Romney in 2012.
