Last weekend Sarah Palin made her first comments on the recent protests in Egypt. Palin was in Reno, Nevada to speak at a meeting of a hunting organization called the Safari Club. When providing her commentary on Egypt, Palin seemed most concerned about how the protests would affect her image. Palin referenced a recently organized media boycott of her, and stated that she is glad for the boycott, because it will mean she avoids any blame for the protests,
"sounds good, because there's a lot of chaos in Cairo, and I can't wait to not get blamed for it--at least for a month."
The "media boycott" of Palin is hardly universal, as evidenced by this article and many others. Dana Milbank of The Washington Post suggested journalists not cover any Palin-related stories for a whole month. While the story has got some publicity, no major news organization, including The Washington Post, has signed on to Milbank's pledge.
Palin's comments reflect her belief that she has become the scapegoat for every negative story in the news. Following the Arizona shootings last month many criticized Palin's "crosshairs map" which featured a target over Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' (D-AZ) district in 2010. Palin then wrote a Facebook post which claimed she was a victim of "blood libel."
To liberals the Palin comments will likely reflect a self-obsession for Palin, who seems to always make stories about her, and make herself the victim in some form or another. In the seven days since the uprising in Egypt began Palin's first released quote deals with how the media will portray her, rather than the rights of the Egyptian people or the prospects for a real democracy in the Middle East.

As yes, Sarah, make it about you. And please, keep talking, because every call for arms, every whine, drops your approval ratings closer to 'not relevant.' I give you until about July to become just a minor footnote in history.
Good lord, lady... GET OVER YOURSELF!
Wow, you should email that same sentiment to the narcissist in chief, obama.
Glenn Beck and Sarah both love a disaster. Glenn Beck is down right giddy today about the chaos in Egypt. The thought of a global meltdown and what that would do to gold prices has him salivating.
Don't want a big disaster to go to waste huh?
Thank you for pointing this out. Palin has nothing of substance to say about any subject at all. All she knows how to do is spew snarky soundbites, yet again, making herself the perpetual victim and center of the universe.
It the press that keeps her going. They write about her when she sneezes and say she did it wrong!
And your snarky comment deserves the Nobel Peace Prize!
She is so nacissistic that she cannot see that everything is not all about her. If she was to be elected President, every global issue or concern would be a personal affront, a slight against her...wow, why to see the big picture, be a mediator, diplomat or perspective-taker. Nope, gotta be "All about ME."
Of course it's all about Palin. She just can't get enough of being reckless with her mouth on top of inciting violence with her right-wing extremism. There is no stopping her and she refuses to back down or even tone it down. This is a prime example... it couldn't be in poorer taste. I drew a visually commentary about this very thing on my artist's blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/01/sarah-palin-made-me-do-it.html
You are a vile sick hateful bigoted human being. And I use the human being part loosely. Name me one elected or political black woman you would EVER talk about like that! You wouldn't.
The hate is disturbing.
I have never in my long life seen so many people, men especially, say so many nasty vile hateful comments toward a woman who undoubtedly stands heads and shoulders above them ALL, who would at the same time do her like you never have done a woman!
If you say you wouldn't, your LYING!
Nah, only you the dumbest conservatives find her "hot" - and the ones with secret submissive sides.
Most men outgrow "stupid bimbo" somewhere in their late 20s or 30s.
Charlie Sheen being a notable exception.
Sarah PAlin is a C#%T
is just a few hours away. How about we give it a shot? A whole month... albeit a short one... free of all mention of you-know-who. No matter WHAT she speechifies, has ghost-written for her or tweets, let's TRY to ignore her.
I'll Second that motion.
sarah I just wish I could write her a letter and really tell her How I feel about her. can't stand that b--ch.. She should not be called former GOVERNOR OF ALASKA SHE WAS NOT IN OFFICE LONG ENOUGH. STAY HOME AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR BABY INSTEAD OF HIRING A MAID TO DUE THE JOB YOU BROUGHT INTO THIS WORLD AGAIN YOU ONLY THOUGHT OF YOURSELF AND NOT HOW YOUR SON WILL SUFFER ALL HIS LIFE.
Can sarah palin even find Egypt on a map?
Sarah, sweetheart, do you have ANY idea how stupid you sound? I listened to your criticism of President Obama and his handling of the Egyptian fiasco and for the life of me, I cannot find a complete sentence in your statement. And for Pete's sake shut up about how every world crisis centers around how it affects you.
Sarah Palin is a skilled armswomen. Why doesn't she take her oil money and buy a ticket to Egypt and deal with Mubarak herself.
I don't know what you poor people will do when you don't have Sarah Palin to work off all your frustrations on. It is amazing to see people so bent out of shape about one person. Why don't you people get a life? I don't especially like Obama, but he certainly doesn't ruin my day. It seems to me as if you just can't seem to get the hang of politics. There is nothing new under the sun in politics. Political harangue is as old as dirt. Almost.
The very premise of this article is bogus. It STARTS by presenting this remark as Palin's commentary on the protest in Egypt. No, it was not! It was simply her response to Dana Millbank's "pledge" about HER. So, she responds to a question about HER by saying something (an offhand quip) about herself... well duh! What's she *supposed* to do??
But this was a minor point, not an attempt at "commenting on Egypt", nor anything like the focus of her speech.
For those who missed it, the keynote speech was mainly about the outcome(s) of the Tucson shootings, including addressing concerns about what the (federal) government might do in response with regard to '2nd Amendment issues'. This was, of course, a major concern of the SCI, and especially after various voices (politicians etc) began to call for stricter gun control laws in light of the tragedy.
One way to really confuse the self centered jerk is to mention to her that Egypt is part of Africa.
