Sarah Palin resigned as Alaska's Governor earlier this year. AP Photo Al Grillo
As her book "Going Rogue" is released Sarah Palin is "going" on nearly every major network in an attempt to promote the book. Palin is expected to make millions from the book which already has received considerable coverage in the press though not all such coverage is favorable.
Recently the Associated Press did a "fact check" on Palin's book and found twelve claims that they identified as false. Included were allegations that Palin used her political position to gain favorable treatment for herself personally while Mayor of Wasilla. Palin shot back at the AP for devoting eleven reporters to doing what she called "opposition research" on her book. The AP responded themselves by saying the article represented "strong reporting" and saying the eleven reporters represent a relative small percentage of the 4,100 reporters that work for the company.
In addition to the unfavorable coverage by the AP a photo of Palin has also emerged on the cover of Newsweek which she is reportedly upset over. Palin called the photo sexist and taken out of context.
Update: A correction was made in this article changing Mayor of Alaska to "Mayor of Wasilla." The mistake was inadvertent. Thank you to the commenter who brought it to my attention.

Has the AP EVER before done such a thing?
11 checkers found 12 things they whine about? Out of an entire book?
Lets fact check the AP over the years and I bet Palin is more truthful than the AP. (Associated Parasites)
No liberal book has been fact checked by the AP.
One can reasonable conclude, therefore; that the purpose of the Associated Press, was not be expose facts!
It was to personally destroy Sarah Palin and those like her, who believe they can over step their bounds into the elite world of politics and media! Only if they conform to the leftist ideology are they allowed this privilege!
Only Pelosi and other liberal women in politics will be treated with respect.
I don't know if she will continue a political career, but I applaud her tenacity and courage to face them down, despite the endless ridicule!
The same people who make a case against her for corruption and inexperience defended charges a thousand times worse in Obamas case! This is the meaning of hypocrity!
Gigi, the SAME people who hate Palin defended Roman Polanski!
Whats that say about them?
Fear the Cuda:
Great point! Hope you stick around!
Fear the Cuda says:
"Gigi, the SAME people who hate Palin defended Roman Polanski!
Whats that say about them?"
that's a pretty stupid statement...people that hate Palin defend Polanski...what is that, about 3 people???? I haven't met anyone yet that hates Palin...dislikes her? maybe, but not hate...I haven't met anyone defending Polanski...there might be a few film people, but the general population couldn't care less if goes to jail or not.
Walrus is grumpy today!
I think it's fair to say that the people who defend Polanski are the type that hate Palin.
I'm sure it's an exaggeration to put it the other way, but can't we conservatives ever exaggerate or is that just a liberals' privilege?
I don't usually even bother with liberals who are exaggerating.
They tell so many whoppers, I just wait for those!
Gigi says:
"Walrus is grumpy today!..."
maybe if you and Cuda didn't paint every non-conservative with the Cra(p) brush, walrus wouldn't get grumpy
Witt said: "Included were allegations that Palin used her political position to gain favorable treatment for herself personally while Mayor of Alaska."
I didn't realize Ms Palin was Mayor of Alaska, I thought Ms. Palin was Governor of the state.
Looks like we need to fact check Witt as well. AND, perhaps it is time we fact check Obama's books ... whaddya think?
Walrus:
We're for:
Fiscal responsibility
Strong National Defense
Responsible legal immigration
low taxation
individual responsibility & liberty
fighting corruption in our own party (and fighting noncompliance with these issues)
Why not convert?

because I have a brain and a heart
Walrus:
Please elaborate

it's something a conservative will never understand.
RE Walrus and Gigi,
To paraphrase Ted Kennedy (and an old Irish quip).... "Is this a private fight or can anyone join?"
Walrus....Conservatives want EVERYONE to win in that they are not arbitrarily kept down by Gov't regulations. We want True opportunity for ALL, not targeted groups. As to brains.....well I think authors like Victor Davis Hanson, Ralph Peterson, Gary Wills, Paul Rahe, Mark levin, Skouson and Ann Coulter speak for themselves.
Jaime:
Well put!
I think most liberals prefer to believe we are without hearts or brains....thus justifying their efforts at shutting down our rights to free speech in this country.
jaime says:
"...Walrus....Conservatives want EVERYONE to win in that they are not arbitrarily kept down by Gov't regulations."
car salesman weasel words "Conservatives want EVERYONE to win (if you had stopped here, I would have said you have a heart) "in that they are not arbitrarily kept down by Gov't regulations." (this is the disclaimer to the first part) The second part is the real YOU, it is what you REALLY mean and it is very selfish...regulations are there to level the playing field for the good of ALL...you want a lack of a level playing field (lack of regulations)..robber barons have that same wish, and you could NEVER say that robber barons have hearts...if you protect the laws (or lack of laws) that help create robber barons, but you don't have robber baron money, then you lack brains.
Walrus:
What is appropriate about being: "arbitrarily kept down by Gov't regulation?"
Everyone should have the same "opportunities" for success. That does not require someone else be 'kept down' arbitrarily!
And who decides who should be 'kept down'? If everyones rights are not protected, no one's rights are 'safe' from arbitrarily being 'kept down'.
We believe in 'justice for all', 'justice is blind', etc. Anything else is 'racist', 'sexist', etc.....
To be accused of not having a heart and not having a brain because you believe everyone should be treated the same is completely illogical to conservatives.
so I guess you were right 'conservatives will never understand'!
p.s. conservatives are often portrayed as 'heartless' when in reality they give to the poor at a much higher percentage than liberals, even when taking into account differences in income levels etc.. I know my family has a much better record of it than the Obamas and we are not wealthy!
Gigi says:
"Walrus:

so, in your mind, liberals are keeping down robber barons arbitrarily?..."how DARE liberals tax robber barons making millions per year to pay for the healthcare of those making minimum wage...how DARE liberals make laws against 30 percent interest on charge cards (while paying 1.5 percent to you on your savings)...how DARE liberals prevent robber barons from laying off thousands of workers so they can make 2 points on their stock options and get their yacht's faucets made in solid gold "
these samples are extremes, but they do occur and they occur under the program you defend (supposedly from your heart-felt "gift" to your fellow Americans)
and YES, "opportunities" for success DO require someone else be kept down arbitrarily! Mostly the robber barons.
Walrus:
How much generosity of 'heart' would it take for you to take money from me and give it to someone else? Especially if you could give it to 50 people and get them to vote for you in return for your 'generosity'.
Many of these 'generous' people are actually 'stingy' when it comes to donating their own money (Obama/Biden) and evade paying their own taxes (Rangel/Geichner)
What have the 'liberals' done to prevent job layoffs from these'robber barons'? They are being laid off by the millions! Unless the 'robber barons' are such big 'robber barons' that they are too big to fail, then they are joining forces with them!
The private sector does a much better job of caring for the poor. Look at New Orleans after Katrina. The red tape makes it almost impossible for gov't to help, but the private efforts zoom right through to the core of the need.
The government is wasteful and corrupt and we need to find good people to replace most of them!
Woe Gigi GREAT post.
I had to do a little work, so couldn't be here. A concept Walrus wouldn't understand except to take our $$$ to give to himself and the others he finds "Deserving"...meaning voting Democrat.
Walrus...I meant every word I said." Not arbitrarily kept down by Gov't regulations" affects EVERYONE high and low as well. Starting new businesses can be horrendous with Gov't Bureauacracy. EVERYONE to succeed to me means loosely that all have access to start-up capital at the same rates and conditions...not different for race or sex. And, That barriors to entry are not so huge as to prohibit a new venture. Thus, In this instance I would AGREE with Gov't regulations against momopolies. I think there should be regulations to encourage more playors in order to have innovation. AND I also agree with certain Environmental restrictions....you prolly wouldn't have thought that huh? You don't really have a good take on Conservatives walrus. We want to increase indiv. freedoms.
How quickly the right forgets that AP was in the tank for McCain, not Obama, in 2008.
