Us Weekly reported on March 21, 2014 that Sarah Michelle Gellar was displeased with seeing the reality star Kim Kardashian and her fiancée rapper Kanye West on the front cover of the elite magazine Vogue.
Gellar 36, was so upset about the April’s issue of Vogue that is about to be on display for sale.
The April issue shows the couple who are getting married in Paris, France in May.
Gellar said she was going to cancel her subscription as she feels Kim and Kanye don’t deserve to be on the cover of Vogue.
The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress was out to slay Kardashian and West with her tweet on Friday, saying, “ Well….. I guess I am cancelling my Vogue subscription, who is with me? ”
One of Kim’s closest confidante, Jonathan Cheban, shot back at Gellar with a tweet “Do u matter”?
The April issue was shot by famous photographer Annie Leibovitz. Leibovitz tastefully shot the cover of the magazine of this high profile celebrity couple.
Kardashian is well known for being in the news for her fashion and her fiancée for his aggression with the media, and his controversial rap lyrics.
Many support Gellar, the “Crazy One” star in her comment about Kimye being on Vogue and don’t think they should have been chosen to grace the cover of Vogue.
However, the cover was in the making long before we had a glimpse of it as West and Kardashian had dinner last May with Anna Wintour who is the editor-in-chief of Vogue.
After spending time with Kardashian, her opinion of the reality star-entrepreneur changed to favorable giving her approval for Kim to be on the cover of Vogue.
Last year when Kim accompanied West to the A-lister Met Gala which is one of the biggest fashion events, Wintour had Kardashian photo cropped out of Vogue’s Best Dressed gallery.
Despite what many feel about the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Kanye West, they aren’t going anywhere and neither is the Vogue cover, will be on the newsstand next week.
Wintour defended herself against the backlash received about the magazine cover by saying “As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort,"
Wintour is also the creative director of Conde Nast magazine and had this to say about West and Kardashian, “ Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world's spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that."
