Just recently Sarah McMullen was nominated for 'Pop Artist of the Year' through the LA Music Awards, which will take place on Thursday, November 18, at 7:30 PM at The Paramount Theatre. The 20th Annual LA Music Awards Nomination Ceremony was held at the Whisky A Go-Go in LA, California. She performed her song, "Twisted," and caught Al Bowman's eye.
"The level of talent on that stage was unlike anything we had ever seen before. Sarah McMullen's nomination for 'Pop Artist of the Year' is completely justified after witnessing her performance at this show. What a voice!" -- Al Bowman, President of LAMA
Sarah also performed at the Kids Helping Kids Project Haiti Celebrity Concert last month, hosted by Nathan Kress (iCarly), Brandon Smith (Sonny with a Chance), and Alyson Stoner (Cheaper by the Dozen). The event was held in the Avalon Theatre in Hollywood. The concert raised money to help build new housing for an orphanage in Haiti called God's Littlest Angels Orphanage. There, Sarah performed "I stand" while acrobats danced behind her on the stage.
Sarah's success over the past year has gotten her songs played in other countries as far as Australia! She even had a live radio interview there last month. She was also a runner-up and semi-finalist in the We are Listening International Singer/Songwriter Competition and the ISC (International Songwriting Competition).
Her movie, Last Ounce of Courage, which she stars alongside Marshall Teague, Jennifer O'Neill, Hunter Gomez, and Jenna Boyd, is due in the fall of this year. It was filmed in Paola, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.
Sarah is a freshman at Blue Valley North High School, where she's an Honor Student and Treasurer of her class, and she studies at The Miller Marley School of Dance & Voice. On top of that, she's a member of the Coterie Theatre's Master Class in acting, where she studies voice with Melinda MacDonald in Kansas City.
