Demi Moore's Lovelace replacement has been rumored to be Sarah Jessica Parker. The character SJP will be playing (if rumors are true) is Gloria Steinem. Steinem who has created her place as the household name behind the 70s feminist movement is very different but oddly similar to the roles Parker is well known for.
Since Moore's recent hospitalization, a statement was made claiming
"Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health," her rep said at the time. "She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."
According to CNN, Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker is said to be taking over in the role of Steinem. The movie Lovelace is a film about the porn star Linda Lovelace is played by Amanda Seyfried. Hugh Hefner's role is played by James Franco. Currently in production, the movie has a small part that Demi Moore was going to play as Gloria Steinem.
However, Sarah Jessica Parker is said to be replacing Moore. While SJP is a wonderful actress, how will her SATC fans feel about her portrayal of one of the worlds most well known feminists?
That is hopefully what Sarah Jessica Parker can pull off. Surely Steinem owns very few pairs of Manolo Blahnik's if any compared to Carrie Bradshaw! Both women are journalists that gave women a voice whether it was at the New York Star or Ms. magazine.
Luckily, SJP can break out of her mold and reveal her true acting talent in a role that will have very little to do with good fashion sense or style.
