In a one-minute PSA featuring Sarah Harbaugh, she talks about the non-pleaded khaki pants being shown on her husband. This includes the visual flaws of "dad pants" where there are extra creases being shown.
"I’d like to talk to you about a serious condition affecting countless men in our country,” Sarah Harbaugh says in the PSA while talking on a living room couch. “I’m talking of course about ‘Dad Pants,’ the shapeless, pleated tragedy that too many men find themselves in every day. I was there. My handsome, vibrant, successful football coach of a husband suddenly looked like he’d hung the curtains from his belt. Thankfully Dockers has discovered the anecdote for dad pants. Since Jim started wearing Dockers, he’s a whole new man.”
Jim Harbaugh is seen barbequing on a grill and has no speaking part in the PSA. Harbaugh's oldest daughter Addison asks her mother who the man with pleaded pants is and Sarah responds saying "That's your dad." Jim Harbaugh is scene smiling while holding a something he barbequed.
The PSA finishes with the following statement:
"If you or a man in your life are living with ‘dad pants,’ I urge you to visit Dockers.com/stopdadpants. Help us rid the world of ‘dad pants’ and you could win a trip to one of Jim’s games. Together we could end this tragedy once and for all.”
Last January when the 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship game, Sarah Harbaugh called into a radio station talking about the dislike in her husband's choice of pants.
Jim Harbaugh laughed about it following the public dismay, but said there aren't any problems since.
"They were making quite a bit of sport of me. But, problem solved there,” Harbaugh said in January. “Well, the Levi’s and the Nike and the Dickies makes a flat khaki so happy wife, happy life.”
Harbaugh previously has worn khaki pants made by Dickies. Dockers are made by Levi’s Strauss & Co., which owns the naming rights for the 49ers’ new Santa Clara stadium known as Levi's Stadium.
