Rising country music singer Sarah Darling is about to bring her "Little Umbrellas" to the "Fox & Friends" stage on Saturday (Aug. 24) for the national debut of her latest summer anthem. Featuring a groovy beat and catchy chorus, the song has gained further acclaim for the star and follows on the heels of her Top 35 Billboard sales single "Home to Me." Additionally, Darling will perform her current single on CBS New York's "The Couch" on Friday, Aug. 23 (7-9 a.m. EDT) and release her first ever EDM remix.
"'Little Umbrellas' is my first independent single release, so it was a pretty big risk for my team and I to put it out there. I'm truly taken back and humbled by the incredible momentum it's generated, " Darling said in a statement. "Thanks to all of my fans and industry supporters who have helped make it my 'Soundtrack to Summer 2013!' It's the greatest gratification when I look out in the crowd I see people up out of their seats dancing and singing along to it...that's why I do what I do!"
On Wed. (Aug. 21), Darling held a StageIt live streaming concert to thank fans for their undying support. Tickets sold-out in less than 45 minutes after the show was originally announced.
“It’s Kenny Chesney-like or Jimmy Buffett-like a bunch,” she notes of the song. “It’s a fun song about you and your girlfriends getting together. Your guys have ticked you off and you go away from home and drink umbrella drinks. We’re killing a lot of ‘Little Umbrellas.’”
Despite parting ways with Black River Entertainment earlier this year, she remains hopeful for the future. “I’m in between labels right now,” she says. “ So this song is a marketing vehicle for this phase I’m in of finding a label partner that believes in my music and the way I’m doing things. We’re going to promote it in a non-traditional fashion with the help of Sirius XM, Sony RED Distribution, Aristomedia and other key promotional partners, so it will be exciting to see where the journey takes us. I believe In order to do amazing things you have to take risks!”
