At the CMA's "A Nashville Night in the Carolinas" a couple of weeks ago I had the good fortune to run into Sara Scott for the first time in months. This time I noticed a difference in her. She had a twinkle in her eye - a light was on and an energy came from her which told me that something had changed for her! She said she had lot's to share and we needed to catch up as she began to set up with her band on stage.

For those who don't know Sara Scott, she's a lovely 20-something singer-songwriter from right here in Charlotte. She has primarily been involved in Christian or spiritual music to date. Her 2009 CD "The Way Of Things" met critical local success within the religious music genre and resulted in a solid fan base. You may have heard her on the Gospel Music Channel, at a Charlotte Checkers game, or seen her perform at a local venue - she's performed at the Evening Muse with the Tosco House Party on several occasions.

So Wednesday we connected over coffee and she shared her reasons for excitement. Seems Sara experienced an epiphany the middle of last year. One that she feels liberated her and which has released an energy within her. Sara realized that she REALLY likes mainstream music and it's ok if she spreads her wings in the pursuit of that dream. "I can't stop writing! My confidence with arranging and creative ideas is soaring. The songs are flowing out of me like I have never experienced, and they are different than anything I have ever created. I can't wait to share it with anyone who will listen."

Sara is currently working on her second album which she targets for release in the Spring of 2011. She has the new sound in her head, now she's looking for a studio who can work with her and her band to capture that vision. She has realized that she can't do it all by herself and will need a team to get her to the next level in her career. Addressing this, Sara and her inner circle are looking for Management.

To help her achieve her goals and broaden her fan base Sara is actively pursuing performance opportunities. Lately she has been performing with Hannah Miller within the region and is expanding the Charlotte venues for bookings. She has the original material, she has the band, and she's scheduling the opportunities to show her immense talent. Sara's performing at "Find Your Muse" Monday & the "Tosco House Party" Wednesday as well as the 8PM time-slot at the Evening Muse during the NoDa Gallery Crawl Sept 3rd. Check out Sara's MySpace page for the rest of her September schedule!

It's easy to see why the fire was so bright in Sara's eyes when I saw her a couple of weeks ago. A full length album outside her "traditional" genre underway, completed putting a band together, has begun to build her business team, feeling very creative with lots of songwriting and an expanded performance schedule - what's not to love?!

Keep an eye out for her appearances and keep a blessing in your heart for her success!
