Sara Evans wrapped up the work on recording her seventh album and has released the first single "Slow Me Down" from the new album. Evans worked on the video for her latest release with NASCAR driver Carl Edwards as her co-star. Evans spoke to CMT about working with Edwards and pointed out that he is mean and she has the proof on video.
The emotional video for "Slow Me Down" has the two playing husband and wife. Evans explained the video for the song by saying "It's a very dramatic song about this girl who knows the relationship she's in is not great" adding "They're fighting a lot, and she is threatening to leave. She wants him to stop her."
Evans told CMT "I'm not even kidding" when she talked about Edwards being mean during the video shoot. Evans said "Carl Edwards went ahead and said really mean things to me when we are at a bar. He was like, 'You are such an idiot, and you have no idea what you're doing.' He plays my husband. And he's super mean."
Evans also pointed out what a great job Edwards did portraying the mean guy in the video saying “Carl blew us all away both on and off camera” adding “He nailed the acting parts and was so fun to have around on set especially during the fighting scenes in the apartment.”
Evans talked about how funny Edwards was on set saying “We’re both from Missouri and share the same sense of humor, so it was easy to joke back and forth, we had the entire crew cracking up, but on camera it looks like we literally hate each other.”
Edwards said “Sara was as nice and down to earth as she seems” adding “She amazed me with how much heart she put into this song. We had a lot of fun shooting the video and I hope everyone enjoys it” when he discussed working with Evans on the video.
You can watch and even listen to Evans and Edwards during the making of the video that Evans shared on her Facebook page saying “Have you seen the behind the scenes for the "Slow Me Down" music video yet? Watch Sara and Carl Edwards pretend to hate each other and hear what they really said to each other!”
