Sara Beth Brooks earns Voice and Action Award from College Campus

The College Pride website, a blog that serves gay, lesbian, bi and transgender communitis on college campuses, awarded ten people ten people the 2013 Voices in Action award.. Most of the names attend colleges around the country. Most of the people honored were not asexual, but here was one exception. Aces will recognize the final name on their list. Sara Beth Brooks made earned the final slot. College Pride published the article Tuesday.

College Pride selcted Brooks because of the work she did building bridges between the LGBT and the Asexual communities. While there is still animosity between the two groups, it has been greatly reduced in the last wo years. Canadian researcher Anthony F. Bogaert stated that gay man are often skeptical about the validity of asexuality as an orientation. Prominent gay voices, including a Seattle-based commentator, have supported this assertion.

Brooks stated that she plans to continue her work at the NLGTF conference in January this year. Brooks, Jay, Swankivy and other will talk about their experiences.
