Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, Stagebridge’s showcases are a must-see this holiday season! The first one presents Acting, Storytelling and Improvisation.
Stagebridge’s acting classes are on the marquee for the first time this December. Up First, Artistic Director Josiah Polhemus’ acting class will present two-person scenes, ranging from Iraqi war dialogues to everyday dramedies.
Joy Carlin’s class will offer scenes from The Madwoman of Chaillot, On the Verge, an interview with Mary Shelley’s doppelganger and one or more student-written monologues.
You can also enjoy offerings from Kirk Waller’s advanced storytelling class, and the Antic Witties improvisation group under the direction of Theatresports veteran Barbara Scott.
The show starts at 6:30 pm at the Aurora Theatre, 2081 Addison Street in Berkeley. The Aurora is wheelchair accessible. Suggested donation: $15. Advance tickets available; (510) 444-4755.
Don’t forget to sign up for Stagebridge’s winter classes, which begin in January 2012! Stagebridge will also present a special event in February and March—the original play Counter Attack.
