Santa Monica versus Palisades tonight

The Santa Monica Vikings will take a short road trip as they travel to local rival, Palisades High (Pacific Palisades, CA), tonight, September 16. The Vikings (1-0) look to improve their record against a team with a run first mentality. The Palisades Dolphins ran an option offense last week in a 35-36 loss to El Camino Real High.

If the Dolphins use the same offense, the linebackers for Santa Monica should be very busy. Justin Coker, Donovan Citrowski, and Chris Collins were tackling machines against an overmatched Leuzinger High in last week’s 42-6 victory.

Kris Comas is a big weapon on offense/special teams and will certainly play a big role for the Vikings. Brandon Taylor and Kori Garcia will bolster the running game and look to break big plays behind a good offensive line. Quarterback, Brock Miller, struggled last week in the passing game and will look to improve against the Dolphins defense.

The Vikings and Dolphins face off tonight at Palisades High School. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
