Santa Cruz Warriors back in D-League Finals

The Santa Cruz Warriors are back in the NBA D-League Finals after outlasting defending champions Rio Grande Valley Vipers 2-1 in their semifinal series. Cam Jones led the Warriors in scoring with 63 points in the series. Mychel Thompson and Seth Curry added 60 and 58 points.

The Warriors are headed to their second consecutive Finals in as many years in existence in Santa Cruz. The Warriors lost to the same Vipers last season. The Warriors will host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants tonight for game one of the Finals before heading to Fort Wayne for game two and game three if necessary.

The Warriors cruised in game one against the Rio Grande Valley 135-104 last Thursday, April 17, 2014 but lost in game two 113-136 in Hidalgo, Texas before winning the decisive game three 147-128 to advance.

Tip-off is 6:30 PM at the Kaiser Permanente Arena tonight in downtown Santa Cruz.
