Santa Cruz Valentine’s Day: Special menus at La Posta, Casablanca, Ma Maison

Valentine’s Day is a great time to enjoy a romantic meal at one of your favorite restaurants, and many restaurants in Santa Cruz – including La Posta, Casablanca, and Ma Maison – are featuring special menus on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. See below for details, and I’ll publish more restaurants in the next day or two.

La Posta

This Santa Cruz restaurant is offering a special prix fixe dinner menu on Tuesday Feb. 14. It’s $50 for three courses; call (831) 457-2782 for reservations. Choose one course from each section:

1.

Sprouting broccoli vinaigrette with green olives, almonds, burrata and marjoram

Spiced beet soup with a warm crab crostino and crème fraîche

Quail spiedino with pancetta, fresh bay leaf, toasted farro and celery root

Chestnut pappardelle with local chanterelles and braised leeks

Halibut in saffron and tomato brodo with clams, potato and smoked chili aioli

Chocolate semifreddo with candied mandarins and hazelnuts

Meyer lemon cake with rose gelato and meringues
