Escape from the valley heat to the Santa Cruz Mountains on July 20 for the Santa Cruz Mountains Passport Day, July 19. With over fifty Santa Cruz Mountains wineries in the Passport Program- from Half Moon Bay to Gilroy - your experience is bound to be unique and memorable. From mountain top vistas to passing llamas along the winding drive through the Santa Cruz Mountains each winery has a flavor that will leave you wanting more.

Passport Days was first introduced to the Santa Cruz Mountains in 1993 by the Winegrowers of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Four times a year the winegrowing community of this unique nearby wine region comes together to celebrate the generations of farmers, vintners and families that are the roots of the Santa Cruz Mountains wine region. Over these past 21 years the event has become a beloved tradition among wine lovers who enjoy wines produced by the legendary artisan winemakers in this area.

From Ahlgren to Zayante the Wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains will once more open their doors to Passport participants on Saturday, July 19, 2014 between 11 am and 5 pm. The Passport Program offers a unique opportunity for visitors to visit wineries not typically open to the public at other times. Passport holders will be invited to tour the facilities, meet the winemakers, and sample the fruits of their labors - including special wines poured only for participants in the Passport Program! Passports are valid for two years from date of purchase and entitle the bearer to Passport benefits one time at each participating winery. Passports are only $45 per person. You can also use your Passport on other days with wineries that have typical tasting hours.

This allows guests to visit the vineyards during each season of the growing cycle. Spend a wonderful day at the wineries in the company of winemakers, and bring home some great wine to treasure and share with friends for any occasion!
