A two-week investigation by the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team ended Tuesday with the arrest of a man believed to be a drug supplier.
Over the course of the investigation, authorities identified Jose Luis Herrera, 41, as allegedly being a street-level drug supplier operating within the city of Santa Cruz.
Officers from the anti-crime team and the Santa Cruz Police Department located Herrera on Pacific Avenue and took him into custody. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on three counts of selling a controlled substance.
Authorities then served a search warrant on Herrera’s workplace, home, and vehicle. During the search of the car, police reported finding 51 bindles of cocaine and methamphetamine, which were packaged for sale.
Police say the approximate street value of the seized narcotics is $16,000.
