Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter presents Halloween Hoe-Down, a Fall Festival of Fun!

Mark your calendars, tell your friends and plan to enjoy some fun at this exciting community event!

The Halloween Hoe-Down flier reads:

On Sunday, October 30, 2011, Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) will host its 1st Annual “Halloween Hoe-Down” at SCCAS’ Santa Cruz location animal shelter, 2200 7th Avenue, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Join us for live music, a pet costume contest with celebrity judges, special adoption prices, food and fun activities to support your community animal shelter in this Fall Festival of Fun!

Participants are invited to come to Santa Cruz County’s largest animal shelter to enjoy the following:

• SCARY Low Price Adoption Special…all animal adoptions half price (all day, 9 am to 5:30 pm)!
• Pet Parade at 2:00 pm and Pet Costume Contest & Prizes starting at 2:30 pm

($5 entrance donation)

Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter (SCCAS) provides animal regulation and humane care that protects the health, public safety and welfare of people and animals in Santa Cruz County.

SCCAS currently rescues and assures safe, temporary shelter, veterinary and humane care for approximately 7,000 stray, unwanted, abandoned, mistreated and injured animals each year. SCCAS also provides 24 hour animal rescue service and is Santa Cruz County’s only full service, open-admission animal shelter. These organizations don’t have the luxury of shrinking from the life and death issues of animal welfare. They are the only animal welfare agency in any community that has to address the issue of pet euthanasia head on every minute of every day.
