Santa Barbara's first post-prohibition winery hosts the Wine Bistro

Pierre Lafond has played a pioneering role in the history of Santa Barbara County's wine industry since 1962 when he opened the Santa Barbara Winery - the first commercial winery to open in Santa Barbara County post-prohibition.

A local favorite since 1993, the Wine Bistro is Pierre Lafond's culinary venue. This downtown restaurant has garnered quite the following for both visual appeal and unpretentious culinary craftsmanship. The Wine Bistro serves California cuisine showcasing the best local and organic ingredients. The seasonal menu enures that patrons are getting the freshest ingredients available.

The Wine Bistro serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Chef Nathan Heil is keen on flatbreads and grilled items, breaking up the main dishes into "Land", "Sea" and "Vegetarian". Wine is an integral part of the menu. The restaurant serves wines from its own vineyards, Santa Barbara Winery and Lafond Winery, as well as from around the world. Appetizers include Caramelized Onion & Goat Cheese Tart, Steamed Mussels, Flatbread - Prosciutto & Roasted Mushroom Flatbread, Garden Tomato & Arugula Pesto Flatbread. Land - Confit of Duck, Braised Lamb Shank. Sea - Stave Roasted Salmon, Seared Halibut. Vegetarian - Roasted Delicata Squash, Vegetable Barley Risotto. For dessert be sure to save room for the Chocolate Glazed Banana Cake or Pear Tarte Tatin.

Passport to the World of Wine
is the 1st Wed of each month. A great evening to taste 5 wines from exceptional growing areas and different countries paired with a delicious culinary selection. Each month is a different varietal. Bistro Sommelier pours and explains the wines. Guests enjoy the relaxed, casual atmosphere and the opportunity to share tasting notes.
The price can't be beat... $25.00 wine and food. 6pm - 8pm.

Thursday night is Grilled Cheese Night. Chef Nathan selects 3 new cheeses each week. Order one of the sandwiches or choose the assortment plate. Includes Tomato Bisque or Bistro Greens. 12.50
