At the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center become inspired by Sacred Slave Stories and delve deep into the hearts and minds of over 2,000 slaves. Sacred Slave Stories: As quoted from http://www.wdpac.com: "‘My parents come over on a slave ship from Africa about twenty year 'fore I was born on 'da William Driver plantation down in Florida…’ -Andrew Simms, age 80, from Born in Slavery: Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers' Project, 1936-1938.” February 1st – 5th watch the Monroe Dance Project perform a contemporary ballet portraying courageous stories of over 2,000 slaves. General tickets cost $17.00 and student tickets are $15.00. The show is suitable for all ages and will be performed at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center at 201-203 South Magnolia Avenue in Sanford.
Cars For The Cure: February 3rd– 5th join the American Lung Association’s 8th Annual Cars For the Cure. Friday is the VIP reception and pre-party show for sponsors and car registrants. Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM attend the free car show—from muscle cars to sassy exotics—which is open to the public. Make a donation to earn a wristband and receive free perks all day such as wine, beer, and giveaways. Saturday night make sure to shine your car for the Sunday Drive. Pre-registration is required and route details will be released Saturday morning. Meeting at 7:30 AM and leaving at 8:00 AM, be prepared to roll down your windows and cruise Florida’s streets for two hours. The event is located on the border of Sanford and Lake Mary at Colonial TownPark. Park in the lots around 932 Market Promenade Ave.
The Long Run - Eagles Tribute: If you love the Eagles, you will enjoy this tribute band. The show starts at 7:30 PM this Saturday, February 4th. Tickets range from $20.00 - $27.00 at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center at 201-203 South Magnolia Avenue in Sanford.

Lake Mary’s Farmer’s Market: For those that live on the other side of Sanford, head to Lake Mary’s City Hall from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The market is every Saturday, weather permitting. Find delicacies such as kettle corn, loose-leaf tea, and cheesecake cupcakes. City Hall is located on the corner of Lake Mary Blvd. & 4th St.
