Sandy victims from Staten Island eligible for a makeover on "The View"

If you're a woman in your 30s and were affected by Hurricane Sandy, you could win a makeover and be featured on ABC's popular talk show, "The View," next week, according to The Staten Island Advance. It does not take away the pain of loss and devastation left from Sandy, but it does help in lifting the spirits of those affected by the storm.

You can also nominate a friend, adds the report.

After Hurricane Sandy ravaged Staten Island on October 29, many women found their lives in disarray, with no time for visits to the beauty salon or manicurist, according to the report.

So "The View" wants to make four women affected by Sandy feel glamorous again. "We're looking for two female viewers in their 30s in need of a little pampering," said Lourdes Guillen, a production assistant for show, which airs daily at 11 a.m. "We want to give back to those who were affected by the storm."

The makeovers can consist of new clothes, haircut and makeup, she said."The View" producers have already chosen women in their 40s and 50s, and now need two of their younger counterparts for the makeover episode, according to The Advance.

Those chosen will need to be available on Thursday for a show "prep," then the episode will air live next week, said Ms. Guillen to The Advance.

The View features a cast of female celebrities, including ABC News correspondent Barbara Walters, acclaimed actress Whoopi Goldberg, comedian Joy Behar, actress/comedian Sherri Shepherd and designer and former "Survivor" cast member Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The View features new and hot topics every day.

If you'd like to nominate yourself or someone you know for the makeover, send a photo and reasons why you or the friend should be chosen before Thursday to: viewsandymakeovers@gmail.com.
