More than 96% of alarm calls are false alarms. The responses take public safety personnel away from proactive patrol efforts in the community. To help reduce the number of false alarms, the Sandy Springs City Council adopted an alarm ordinance requiring all residents and business owners to register their alarm system with the city.
Registering the alarm system is easy.

Go to and follow the prompts to
register your alarm system. To register via phone, call 1-855-725-7101.
Registration must be renewed each year. Failure to register your alarm system will result in a $100 fine. In the case of repeated false alarms (two or more), a series of graduated fines will be charged to the alarm user, ranging from $50 to $500 for each violation.
