Lagoon Deer Park Featuring over 200 animals from around the world (including Japan, Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia and North & South America), visitors to Lagoon Deer Park are able to walk with, pet and feed the animals. Among the animals are goats, rheas (like an ostrich), audads, llamas, miniature donkeys and of course, lots and lots of deer. And make sure you check out the baby animals . There are approximately 75 new babies born every year at Lagoon Deer Park.
With 56 acres of lagoons (and they are shaded!) on the property, visitors are also able to participate in fishing. Some of the fish are propagated at Lagoon Deer Park and others are brought in to stock the lagoons. Varieties of fish waiting to be caught include bullheads, bass, carp, perch, crappies, muskies, channel cats, bluegills and northern pike (depending on the season). Visitors can also feed the hungry fish. Visitors must bring their own fishing gear and bait. Cost for fishing is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.
Lagoon Deer Park also features a large picnic area with tables in a picturesque setting so feel free to bring along a picnic basket and enjoy lunch or dinner on site.
Don't forget to pay a visit to the new on-site gift shop where merchandise like jewelry, souvenirs, collectibles, sportswear and Cherokee handcrafts are available for purchase.
Hours for the Lagoon Deer Park are 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily (through Labor Day). Park admission is $9 for adults and $5 for children. Remember, there is an additional fee for fishing.
