Sandra Bullock got a distinct honor on Wednesday night when she is awarded the Favorite Humanitarian Award at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards. The award reflected her generous philanthropic efforts not only currently but throughout her career. The first award of its kind, the special honor is exclusive to the Hollywood actress who has been philanthropic for years.
Sandra Bullock is especially generous with her ongoing commitment to Warren Easton High School in New Orleans following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The star adopted Warren Easton Charter High School less than six months after Hurricane Katrina and has been actively involved in rebuilding the school. Giving funds for college scholarships, buying band uniforms, athletic equipment other school related projects, the star has given to the youth of the community.
The custom Waterford Crystal trophy presentation was a highlight of the 2013 People’s Choice Awards and there couldn't have been a more deserving individual to receive the first honor.
