Sandra Bullock beats Oscar jinx

Sandra Bullock beats the Oscar jinx with her nomination for best actress in the movie Gravity (2013) which is also nominated for best picture.

Since winning the Academy Award for best actress in The Blind Side (2009), Sandra has starred in Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011), another two Oscar nominee. The Heat (2013), starring Bullock and Melissa McCarthy was a commercial hit, costing a modest $43 million and taking in a healthy $160 million at the box office. The Heat 2 has already been announced.

And now with Gravity, another Bullock project achieves both critical and commercial success. Much to the chagrin of past Oscar winners, their careers have been less than stellar after winning the gold statuette. Trying to choose projects that are worthy of an Oscar winner might be the problem for some, but from the gallery, it appears that Sandra Bullock doesn’t take herself that seriously, which is probably at the center of her success.
