San Pedro man pleads not guilty to raping neigbor's dog

2013 has been a horrible year for animal abuse cases. Dogs being killed by their supposed rescuers, burned alive, dragged behind cars all culminating in the horrific torture of Puppy Doe by a sadistic monster. Just when you think you cannot tolerate hearing another horrifying story another one comes along as heinous as its predecesors.

It all started in early November 2012 in San Pedro, California when a resident who chose to remain nameless became concerned when hearing late night disturbances in his backyard. He assumed there was some prowler or prowlers who were targeting his house. His suspicions were heightened when he heard his Akita dog shriek in the middle of the night. When he ran out to check he found a cell phone on the ground. Two weeks later he heard the dog make the same cries of distress. When he checked on the dog he found her acting oddly and discovered his gate open.

The mysterious occurrences prompted to homeowner to purchase a surveillance camera to trap the alleged prowler. What he caught on tape was beyond horrifying and disgusting.

The video surveillance captured a twenty two year old male sneaking into the backyard, giving the dog some kind of drug to relax it then having sex with the dog for hours.

The suspect was quickly identified as Christopher Alexander Caceres the 22 year old grandson of the neighbor.

Caceres was charged with one felony count of animal cruelty subjecting the dog to bestiality, torturing and tormenting the dog. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count of sexual assault on an animal for unlawfully having sexual relations with a dog. He was also charged with a felony count of burglary for allegedly breaking into a San Pedro trailer that day while it was occupied. If convicted of all counts he could face up to nine years in prison.

Caceres had an arraignment on November 18th to which he pleaded not guilty. The dog’s owner also attended the arraignment because he wanted to see the suspect in person to see if he would plead guilty. The dog’s owner was quoted as saying the situation was “…unimaginable to me, for it to go on for so long was heart-wrenching.”

Christopher Alexander Caceres is being held in the county jail on $100,000 bail. Meanwhile the dog is recovering at her home. She has been kept sedated and is taking pain medications.
