A 17-year-old is dead and a 14-year-old wounded after a shooting in East San Jose over the weekend, marking the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Audubon Drive Sunday at about 9:15 p.m. on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located 17-year-old Jorge Brambila and the juvenile suffering from gunshot wounds. Brambila was pronounced dead at the scene and the juvenile was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that unknown suspects simply approached the victims and opened fire. Police are investigating the case as a gang-related shooting.
