San Jose police investigating East Side stabbing death

The San Jose Police Department is investigating the city’s third homicide of 2013.

Officers responded to Southside Drive in East San Jose at about 8:30 p.m. last Thursday on a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they located 44-year-old Donald Harvey lying in front of a residence and suffering from multiple stab wounds. Investigators do not believe the residence is related to the victim or the crime. Harvey was transported to Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was attacked by four or five suspects, at least one of whom stabbed him. Police say there is no evidence the incident was gang-related.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Steve Bustillos or Det. Jaime Jimenez at (408) 277-5283. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867 and may be eligible for a cash reward.
