Well, this is it. This weekend (Sept. 26-29th) C2SV - the tech, music and arts festival - comes to a music club near you. If you remember, the last time I wrote on C2SV I was adulating the festival for booking local, San Jose act.
Fortunately, the festival has gone from “Hey, man! Where are all the local, music acts!” to “Hey, man. Where are all the local music acts playing. The festival has grown even bigger, in that respect, producing some great lineups at 15 different music venues throughout our fair city.
Some notable additions to the festival come on nights like Friday the 26th, when The San Jose Rock Shop hosts local, instrumental, prog-metal act Amonie, alongside SF, black metal shoegazers, Deafheaven.
Local favorites, and gloom purveyors, Cartoon Bar Fight join up for what is arguably the festival’s crown jewel at Cafe Stritch on Sunday, Sept. 29th for an evening set. They’ll be supporting some of the bay area’s finest, like Rin Tin Tiger and The Trims, while the Milpitas-based, melancholy punks, The Albert Square, will play Stritch earlier that same afternoon.
And that’s not all. In fact, C2SV has gone from having a scant local showing, to San Jose rock smorgasbord status.
So, make sure to check all the schedules, details and lineups at the C2SV website, and have a rock-clad weekend, tight here in San Jose.
