January 4
“Texas Chainsaw” (R, 92 min) is about a young girl who inherits a Texas property with untold horrors from a dark and bloody past. Opens nationwide. Check local listings for showtimes.

“Les Troyens” (NR, 345 min) is an NCM Fathom and The Metropolitan Opera event. Presented live for one day only, it is Barlioz’s epic portraying characters from the Trojan War. It only shows in select AMC theaters, 9:00 am, for $16 to $24.

“Siegfried” is an Opera on Film event presented by Camera Cinemas. It’s a coming-of-age story about a young hero discovering his destiny. Presented at Camera 3, 288 S. 2nd Street, San Jose 95113 for $17 on Jan 6 (12:15pm) and Jan 8 (6:30 pm).

“Un Ballo in Maschera” (NR, 240 min) is an NCM Fathom and The Metropolitan Opera event about a conflicted king, a married woman, and a suspicious husband. It only shows in select AMC theaters, 6:30 pm, for $15 - $22.
January 11
“A Haunted House” (R, 86min) A comedy that parodies “found footage” horror movies starring Marlon Wayans and Essence Atkins. For show times, visit www.amctheaters.com.
“Studio Gibli Series” Special Screenings is presented by Camera Cinemas and runs from Jan 11 to Jan 17. It is a 25-year retrospective of films from Japan’s renowned animation studio. “Aida Encore Screening” (No Rating, 240 min) is an NCM Fathom and The Metropolitan Opera event. It is a drama set in ancient Egypt about an enslaved Ethiopian princess, an Egyptian princess, and the hero Radames.
