San Jose man missing for a month found stabbed to death in his home

A man that neighbors called "The Magician" was found dead in his apartment on Thursday, four weeks after he was last seen.

Stanley Jacobson, 69, from San Jose, Calif. was reported missing Feb. 18. Police asked the public to keep a lookout for Jacobson as they considered him at-risk because he had early stages of dementia.

When Jacobson was found, police have not yet determined if he was in his apartment the whole time or was taken there later.

Police did say they arrested Regina Butler, 46, in connection with Jacobson's murder, reports KTVU news. Butler was seen outside Jacobson's apartment earlier on Thursday, not long before his body was found.

"I asked her, 'What are you doing here?'" said Benjamin Ramos, 85, Jacobson's neighbor told Mercury News. "I wanted to see if she knew anything about Stanley. I said, 'You were the last one to see him, you were the only one with an extra key to his car.'"

Jacobson was well liked at the Hilltop Manor Senior Apartments by all his neighbors and earned the nickname "The Magician" because he always had cards, handkerchiefs and coins that he would use to entertain friends with his magic tricks.

Although Jacobson was reported missing on the Feb 18, the last time he was seen was on Feb. 5, and Police said he could have been killed just days ago.
