The identity of the San Jose Mega Millions lottery winner is still a mystery

But this is not surprising, says KTVU Channel 2 News in San Francisco.

It often happens that winners of huge lottery prizes don't come forward until after they have received advice.

While the winner's identity is not known, it IS known that the winning ticket was bought at a San Jose gift shop.

KTVU News reports that the jackpot is now at $648 million.

The second winner, who lives in Georgia, has been announced.
