Our San Jose Earthquakes are a terrific part of the local fitness scene, always on the go and active in the community - both among kids and adults. Their message of healthy living, fitness and staying active is cross-cultural and a great inspiration.
Wondolowski named to MLS Best XI
This week it's a shout out to San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski, who was named to the MLS Best XI for a second consecutive year on Nov. 10, becoming the first player in club history to receive the honor in back-to-back seasons.
Wondolowski scored eight goals in the team’s final nine games to tie D.C. United’s Dwayne De Rosario for the league lead with 16. He is just the third player in MLS history to lead or tie for the league lead in goals in consecutive seasons, joining Stern John and Carlos Ruiz.
Beitashour makes local appearance
In other Earthquakes news, defender Steven Beitashour will visit the St. Lawrence Academy men’s soccer team to discuss his soccer career and the skills he used to be successful in both sports and school this coming Thursday (Nov 17) at the Sunnyvale Soccer Complex, 1095 Dunford Way, Sunnyvale, Calif.
Christmas in the Park
When you head to San Jose's longstanding favorite tradition - Christmas in the Park - look for the Earthquake's tree. This year the Club is using ornaments designed by the community -- if you want to see your work of art and "fan love" on display, make your Quakes-themed ornament and mail or drop it by the club’s Front Office at 451 El Camino Real, Suite 220 in Santa Clara, Calif. by Nov. 18.
Youth Academy
A shout out here to the Earthquakes Youth Academy. Both squads took last weekend off ahead of Saturday’s clash with Cal Odyssey at Mustang Soccer Complex in Danville, Calif. The U18s will kickoff at noon with the U16s to follow at 2:30 p.m.
