Night Train Swimmers
A team of six San Francisco based swimmers will attempt to break the world record for the longest continuous relay swim. Night Train Swimmers will depart from La Paz on the Cabo Peninsula and cross the Sea of Cortez to arrive at mainland Mexico, approximately 157 miles away. The team is using this event to raise money to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project , a non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded veterans.
The swim begins on June 27th and is expected to take approximately 3 to 4 days and nights of continuous swimming. Formed in 2008, Night Train Swimmers had the fastest 5-person crossing of the English Channel for 2008 and completed a 100-mile swim from Sacramento to Tiburon.
Stay tuned for future posts on individual swimmer profiles, training programs, nutrition, swim technique, open-water swim strategy and coverage of the event.
