The San Francisco Giants have teamed up with one of the greatest rock bands of all time for "Metallica Night" on May 3, 2013, as part of a game with rival Los Angeles Dodgers. Officially announced late on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, the Giants let it be known that the special event will incorporate the love of rock music and baseball.
Metallica is going to throw out the first pitch and sing the national anthem as well. Fans attending the event will get a special Giants/Metallica baseball cap, and there will be in-game Metallica entertainment as well.
A special package for the night includes:
- Ticket to the Friday night game of the Giants and Dodgers
- Metallica will handle special pre-game activities
- Metallica entertainment throughout the game
- Special-edition Metallica Giants hat
- Portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Bill Graham Foundation
This will be the opening home game for the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park, and it is certainly going to be a loud one.
