Come celebrate one of the most famous wharfs in America at the 2013 Wharf Fest. Wharf Fest 2013 marks the 35th anniversary of Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf and the 50th anniversary of the opening of Hyde Street Pier to the public.
Don’t miss this historic festival on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27 with music, food, rides and crafts for the kids, fireworks on Saturday night, harvest beer tasting area, chowder competition, and a demonstration kitchen. The events will take place along the waterfront from Ghirardelli Square to Pier 39. Admission is free but be sure to bring cash for food, drinks, and rides.
Chowder Competition Tasting- Be a participant in the 2013 chowder competition and select which San Francisco wharf restaurant has the best chowder. For $10, you get eight 2 ounce samples of restaurant’s chowder like Alioto’s and Fisherman’s Grotto #9. The event is Saturday only starting at noon.
Beer Tasting and Harvest Beer Garden- Enjoy beer tastings from great breweries like Speakeasy, Widmar, Lagunitas, Gordon Biersch, and 21st Amendment on Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5pm. A $20 fee will gain you entry to the event located on Beach Street between Larkin and Polk Streets.
Fireworks- Fireworks start at 8:30 pm on Saturday with live music from DJ LP from 99.7 and free neon face painting for the kids. Get there early for a good viewing spot on the waterfront.
