According to Monday's publication of the SF Gate, the San Francisco, Calif., dog walker who left eight dogs inside of a van which was parked at a mall, admits that she made a "terrible mistake."

Pamela Uberti, 67, who runs 4 Your Paws Only, found herself surrounded by an angry mob when she walked out of the Galleria shopping center earlier this month. Concerned passersby had contacted animal control after hearing the distressed barks coming from inside of the vehicle, which had been parked for an extended period of time.

Uberti was not arrested that day, but she was cited and her commercial dog walking permit will be revoked.

Uberti blamed the onset of a migraine for her actions that day - she stated:

I got to the mall and I got sick. I couldn’t see, and I couldn’t function,”

“But that’s no excuse.

Following the incident, Uberti's life has been turned upside down by individuals who remain outraged over the situation. She said:

This thing is a nightmare,”

I can’t answer my phone. I have had texts that are so vile.

Though the temperature inside of the van climbed over 90-degrees on the day of the incident, the dogs inside were not harmed.

Six dogs who were left inside of a vehicle by a dog walker in Langley, B.C., in mid-May were not as fortunate; all of the dogs left in Emma Paulsen's vehicle died from heatstroke.
