San Diego Boat Show Starts Today

SAN DIEGO, CA - This weekends San Diego Sunroad Boat Show down on Harbor Island begins today at noon.  I know my mid winter blues have settled in and its time to dream about boating again.  Sure it’s a busy weekend with the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines (without Tiger Woods), but I would suggest not missing the boat show this year.  Some of my favorite things to do at the boat show are checking out all the new marine products and services, snooping around a few of the 100+ boats in the water, sampling some delicious food from local restaurants and of course sitting in on an educational seminar.

Even with my 40+ years of boating experience, im always looking to learn more.  This years boat show will feature 2 seminars that can’t be missed.  The Port of San Diego will be hosting a seminar on bottom paint.  Discussions will include the Hull Paint Conversion Project grant designed to help Shelter Island boaters offset the cost of switching their bottom paint to new non-biocide coatings.  A second seminar will on Cruising Mexico.  Dick Markie will discuss cruising south of the boarder.
