One of the highlights of the San Diego Beatle Fair, which takes place March 29, will be a special tribute to Tony Sheridan, organizer Dave Humphries told Beatles Examiner.
“My band is doing a tribute for Tony Sheridan,” he said. “Tony was the guest of the last San Diego Beatle Fair. It was the last he would ever do. Sheridan died in February, 2013.
The event, which will be held at the Queen's Bee's Art and Cultural Center, 3925 Ohio St., will also feature authors Ken Mansfield, John Borack and Chuck Gunderson, plus several tribute bands, including Rockola, Baja Bugs and Britain's Finest.
Ken Mansfield was the former U.S. manager of Apple Records, and was present at the Beatles' Apple rooftop concert. His books include “The White Book: The Beatles, the Bands, the Biz: An Insider's Look at an Era” and “The Beatles, the Bible, and Bodega Bay: My Long and Winding Road.”
John Borack is a Southern California-based author whose latest book is titled “John Lennon: Life is What Happens,” a biography that details Lennon's life and career from his childhood through the Beatles and solo years. Chuck Gunderson is the author of “Some Fun Tonight!,” a two-volume boxed set that details the band’s three North American tours.
Tickets at the door will be $25 with children under 12 admitted free. Tickets are available online at this link.
