Looking for something to do on Sunday now that football is over? Rolling Blackout Sundays at F6ix offers a cheap and entertaining way to spend your Sunday night before jumping back into that Monday through Friday grind. This weekly event has featured a series of different hosts which include boutiques, business owners and even Grammy winners; this weekly night time event is gaining a significant buzz around San Diego. When the lights go off, the blackouts start…as do the fun and drink specials.
For everyone that is looking for some quality live music from some of Southern California’s top independent artists this article is for you. San Diego hiphop artist X.O. (the host and birthday boy) will be performing live at f6ix on February 24th as the host for Rolling Blackout Sundays. This event will be the 23-year-olds second hosted event at f6ix and if this event is anything like the last one, hiphop and rap enthusiasts will be in for a treat (incase you missed his last event at F6ix ).
For those of you not familiar with Rolling Blackout Sundays at f6ix this may be the perfect show to get you acquainted with F6ix’s uber popular weekly tradition. When the lights go out, the specials and fun begins as fans are given ten minutes to grab a drink from the bar to catch the drink special which is announced by the DJ. There are a few blackouts during the night, hence the “rolling blackouts” title of this event which lasts until 2:00 AM.
X.O.’s hosted night is sure to be one that is filled with top notch hiphop performances mixed in with some of ‘Mr. Porfavorian’s’ trademark showmanship. X.O. who is known to pass out shots and interact with the crowd with a tendency to go off of the occasional script. Performing a 20 minute set featuring a few select surprise artists from San Diego and Los Angeles this is sure to be one of F6ix’s most talked about Rolling Blackout Sundays. As San Diego is in need for local artist to lay claim to the hiphop scene, X.O. is gaining enough notoriety and building a fan base large enough to help him take on the task of filling that void. Come out to this event and help the host ring in his 24th birthday while catching some quality underground hiphop that is ready for the main stream. The doors open at 9:00 PM and close at 2:00 AM; make sure to arrive on time to get there before the blackouts and performances start.
