San Bruno, California, fire, explosion, update: looting arrest
SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- A news conference shown on KRON 4 News in San Francisco has revealed the following facts about yesterday's San Bruno fire and explosion that rocked the area to its core at around 6pm last night.
PG&E is currently trying to confirm reports of gas smell in the area before the San Bruno fire and explosion took place. Residents say they had smelled gas days before.
In the San Bruno crisis, money more than goods is required by the rescue services. Those who want to donate can check into California Volunteers.

With regard to the San Bruno fire, it is currently too hot to send in dogs to do any more investigating. That will be done tomorrow
Type O negative blood is most required because of the injuries sustained by residents in the San Bruno fire.
So far in San Bruno, four people are confirmed dead and 52 have been made homeless.
Residents remember thinking it was either an earthquake or a small plane that had crashed. Some ran out of buildings with nothing more than the clothes they had on their backs.
The fire is 100 percent contained at this point but there are still many hot spots in the San Bruno incident.
Hospitals says it takes 2-3 days to see the depths of the burns in the victims so any figures they give are currently just preliminary with respect to the San Bruno, California fire and explosion.
15 acres have been burned in San Bruno.
The huge explosion did indeed form a deep crater.
Four firefighters have been currently been hospitalized, mostly due to smoke inhalation in the San Bruno fire and explosion.
One person has been arrested for looting. When the neighborhood in San Bruno has been nothing but kind and supportive, many residents in San Bruno say this is a terrible shame.
San Bruno Fire Capt. Charlie Barringer stated that the neighborhood was engulfed when firefighters arrived, although the fire station was just a few blocks away. He stated that the huge blast took out the complete water system, requiring firefighters to pump water from over two miles away.
Mail can be retrieved from the San Bruno main post office for anyone who cannot get home in San Bruno.
PG&E in the San Bruno area say there is no gas running through the lines at this time.
News reports in the San Bruno fire and explosion say that 37 homes have been destroyed, and in 8 homes there have been minor or major fatalities.
