SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The latest figures from KRON 4 News in the San Bruno, California fire and explosion are: 4 dead, 52 hospitalized (3 of which are critical), 38 homes destroyed, 15 acres burned, fire is 75 percent contained, 1 shelter open. Home after home has been leveled. The death toll could rise. The fire went from a 2-alarm fire to a 6-alarm fire in 10 minutes.

Still under investigation is the reason behind last night's fire and explosion in San Bruno, California. The San Bruno fire resulted in a huge crater being formed.
The San Bruno fire was caused by a 30 inch ruptured gas pipe. Some are even saying the explosion was caused by someone who was stealing gas.
Other residents are saying the smelled gas days before but PG&E did nothing about it. PG&E is looking into that accusation in light of the San Bruno fire.
Meantime, Governor Schwarzenegger is visiting Asia, leaving acting Calfiornia Governor Abel Maldonado to speak at a press conference on Friday. Maldonado said that in the San Bruno fire there had been 53 people hurt and 3 people had critical burns.
He also said that four people had been killed. State Senator Leland Yee, however, told the press that the California Emergency Management Agency stated that six people had been killed in the San Bruno, California fire and explosion.
Reports have come out that 38 homes have been destroyed in the San Bruno blast.
