Two passengers, including a female from San Antonio, were arrested at a cruise ship in Galveston County Saturday according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.
CBP officers arrested Ramona White, 45, at the cruise terminal because of a larceny warranty from Bexar County Sheriff’s Office listed in the National Crime Information Center database.
White was arrested when she made entry at the Galveston cruise terminal. CBP officers turned her over to the Galveston County Police Department for extradition to San Antonio.
North Carolina native Derrick Carter, 31, was arrested Sunday at the same terminal on an outstanding warrant for absconding and sexual assault of a child in Killeen Texas. Carter was extradited to Killeen.
“As a law enforcement agency, we take every opportunity to effect the arrest of criminals and individuals who are wanted by other law enforcement agencies,” said Jeffrey O. Baldwin Sr., CBP director of Houston Field Operations. “These arrests illustrate the vigilance, attention to detail and commitment to duty our officers exhibit on a daily basis.”
Both White and Carter were in the NCIC database, which is a computerized index of criminal justice information that includes fugitives. The database is available to federal, state, and local law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies.
