The city of San Antonio proudly displayed a picture of what appears to be a happy and healthy pet on their 2014 ACS Proposed Budget. However, they failed to state that they had killed that animal which was originally housed at their Brooks facility.
“When reviewing the 2014 ACS proposed budget I found it ironic that the image of the Brooks dog that ACS used for their presentation was a photo that I took of a Brooks dog that was never seen, never promoted by ACS and taking directly back to EBI to be killed." – Pet Advocate Kelly Plessala – Brooks Babies
The controversial Brooks shelter is the subject of concern of many in San Antonio. Citizens are upset that access is restricted and many animals die unseen without a chance for adoption. The city attempts to promote their plans as being the best for the animals, but full and factual information has not been provided to the public.
Citizens, animal rescuers, and nonprofits are struggling hard to reveal the truth and prevent additional deception from the city. However, they feel that the media in San Antonio, Texas excludes important factual information while providing un-challenged statements by city representatives.
