Spurs fans in and around San Antonio are invited to come out to downtown San Antonio Wednesday, June 18 and help the San Antonio Spurs celebrate their fifth NBA Championship win. The celebration begins with a river parade at 6 p.m. on the River Walk. The parade begins at the Arneson River Theater, travels past the Rivercenter Mall and ends at the Convent street bridge. Fans will be allowed to hold their viewing spot beginning at 4 p.m.
Spurs players, past and present, along with Spurs coaches, city officials and live entertainment will be carried on barges down the San Antonio River.
Following the parade the celebration will move to the Alamodome for a special ceremony that begins at 9 p.m. and includes a presentation of the championship trophy as well as words from the Spurs players and coaches.
If standing along the River Walk is not your style the Alamodome will be open to the public free of charge for a viewing of the victory parade on the video wall. The broadcast of the parade will also include highlights from the championship games. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and tickets are not necessary for admittance.
Beat the traffic and the crowds by using the Via Park and Ride services.
