It must be hard being a ‘disintegrating’ party in a state where political affiliation is constantly defecting to the other side. It has to be equally, ‘disheartening,’ to resign to only representation of not just a third of the state’s population, but just a third of your political base.
For sure, it’s disturbing to say the least, that a political party would pin hope on the likes of, State Senator Wendy Davis, who advocate for animal rights, and champion for the lost of human life. Davis is a rising star in the Texas Democrat party, but now, she comes with followers, and not a lot worthy political support.
Democrat leadership in Texas, true Anglo and African American, love fragmented support bases, which is individualism, and expect to overtake the state from the Republican party with people like Davis, ‘Ms. Death by Ignorance,’ or ‘Mr. Hispanic Only,’ social club of San Antonio’s Mayor, Julián Castro.
In an election, both would only gather a third of the party’s base. Davis, would capture abortion advocates. Castro will gather the Hispanic amnesty rights supporters. What would the other third do? What would those Anglo and African American Democrats, who are against illegal immigration, abortions and same sex marriage, but strongly support individual rights of religion, speech and expression, do on election day? Stay home and say, ‘I told you so.’
San Antonio’s ordinance against ‘people,’ ‘who have demonstrated bias against lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender individuals from serving in city positions and prohibit the city from discriminating against employees based on sexual orientation or gender identity. It would also prevent local business owners from discriminating against them,’ will truly cost them and the Democrat party dearly.
‘People,’ who are business owners will move on. Tourist who won’t check their freedoms of thoughts, speech or expression at the city limits, will bypass the city. Will the state continue to fund their schools, roads or health care? Perhaps the LGBT will take up those responsibilities.
Democrats as a political party has never had a full circle thought process. They can’t get pass, turning the corner for political campaign contribution ‘stop signs.’ They completely ignore a simple rule of life. In the end, everybody, regardless, will be judged by their ‘words’ and 'deed.’
