San Antonio rodeo days means business is booming

The San Antonio Annual Stock Show and Rodeo brings all the cowboy traditions to our city in February. Activities such as horse shows and sales plus animal and agriculture cover a wide range of the western roundups.

Over two weeks, from Feb 7th to 24th, the rodeo events combine livestock shows, carnivals and concerts for a variety of entertainment and competitions. There is even a Bar-B-Que cook-off and cowgirls fashion show for all those busy wranglers.

The total attendance last year was 1,510,456 and that translates to a big economic boom for the area. According to the demographic information on the website above, for 61% of those who attended last year, they spent an average of $101-$500 during their stay.

The benefit to education is also part of the Stock Show and Rodeo. Last year over $10 million was committed to scholarships, grants and endowments, auctions, etc.
