San Antonio Children's Museum to host family event this Saturday

The San Antonio Children’s Museum is hosting a free family event this Saturday January 25 at Lion’s Field. The purpose is to celebrate the museum’s new name and future direction.

The Lion’s Field Park will be the place to be for live music, food, activities for the children and prizes. Keith Hill BBQ, The Lemonade Co and Blu Café and Bakery will be providing food and the live music will be by Elora & Gasoline Alley. Children can enjoy activities like connect the dots, designing and decorating sheet forts and science and art based activities. To top the day’s activities Erica Castro will reveal the museum’s new name and logo. This event is free and open to the public.

The San Antonio Children’s Museum is currently constructing a new building at 2800 Broadway south of E Mulberry Avenue set to open in June 2015. It will feature 50% more exhibit space, 30,000 square feet of outdoor space and 240 free parking spaces. The goal of the new space is to focus on interactive science, technology, art and literacy activities geared towards preparing the city’s children for the future.
