The San Antonio Book Festival (SABF) was first presented last year April 2013.

If you were not able to attend last year, you have another opportunity coming up on Saturday April 5, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m for this 2nd annual event. It will be held at the downtown library location of the Central Library and Southwest School of Art.

This free festival is a celebration of books, authors and culture. It is a day long event with book sales, signings, panel discussions, children's story time. Food trucks will offer a variety of menus along with recipe demonstrations and live music. This is a great way to encourage reading in your family.

Barnes & Noble is the official Festival bookseller.

Parking is free at the Frost Bank lot on Flores and Travis Streets

Check the link above for the schedule of book authors. There will be over 70 authors featured with a variety of book topics and note that Sandra Cisneros is on the schedule as well as Jane Pauley, among many others.

To find out more about the event, to help as a volunteer or join as an exhibitor see the details on www.saplf.org

And learn more about the other library programs offered throughout the year.

The festival may prompt ideas for gifts or a summer reading program for the kids. Think about who taught you to read.
